If creative writing is an artform, then writing a blog post is one way of using words to create art. People who create Blogs and place their information online for others to see and read are artistic in their own right, they carefully choose words that would best describe what they feel, what sentimental things they think about, their latest wishes, longings and desires.

Blogging first occurred as “weblogs” this refers to a “server’s log file.” Since the log was elaborated and became Blogging, it has now become the passtime of some of the web’s biggest names in Sport, News and internet marketing too. Since it’s inception in the mid 90s, web logging has gradually saturated the internet community making the web a more in depth source of fluid information.

However, this web logging, still needed a web site and domain name, but with blogging, you don’t need anything just an account with a blog provider. In most cases, these kinds of blogs such as WordPress, blogger, Hostablog etc. are free of charge.

With the rapidly increasing use of blogging on the internet, personal journaling (blogging) has become a common ground for people who wish to be known all over the world. However, most are not famous as this is not a case of being a popular or well-known personality.

In general, blogs have been created for personal use. Like a diary or journal, people have written the daily adventures, sentiments, and whatever that are happeing in their lives or other imagingings and ideas they would like to express online.

With the advent of online businesses, blogs have gradually taken the limelight in providing internet marketing businesses a chance to boost their branding online. This is where online business blogs have taken the major share of sites ranked high on search engines.

Business blogs are created specifically to advertise the products and services of a certain company or online business in order to increase market quotas.

So now business blogs are the new way of promoting your company so that your customers can find you and purchase your stock online. Your readers should be given as much information as possible for this to work properly.
With a blog, internet entrepreneurs have the ability to establish a name in virtually any market through articles that are designed specifically to cater to the purchasers desires, needs and wants.

1. Who are your Customers?

Only ever put things on your blog that would interest others, there’s no point in writing that you watched TV last night. Boring. Write that you watched TV and thought that the program you watched was great/boring/useless/fun. Opinions usually result in feedback online, feedback is great for your blog.

One of the reasons people write blogs is that they want others to know what they are doing AND they want to be heard, they want their 5 minutes of fame! You have to make what you write understandable and if possible write things that other people can relate to. Use examples a lot, pictures are great, videos are better!

2. A Picture is worth a thousand words

Any pictures you place in your blog should be relevant and make sure you write in the picture name and place tags on the details on the back of the pictures. This enhances your SEO (search Engine Optimisation) for your Blog. You do not have to place pictures of yourself online, pictures of the golf course you have just played on, your pet dog/cat and other scenery are great. Any appropriate photographs will do as long as they are within the bounds of public decency and don’t violate your Hosting accounts policies. You must also have the legal ownershiop rights for that picture.

3. Your Blog should be Informative and provide substance.

You are completely free to write anything you like for the whole world to read, but if there is nothing in it for them, why would they stay. So make sure your blog post has something in it for the reader, a small quote, a cute saying, a nice picture, a heap of praise for someone people know, links to free gifts, there are many things can do this for people.

This is the internet, there is a mass of information out there, put some nice slant on that same information and you’ll get the hits on your site instead of Wiki!

4. Keep Your Blog Simple

don’t use big, long or complicated words or descriptions. You will drive the mass market away. If you are specifically targeting very high IQ people then discount this, but 99% of internet readers have the same or similar IQs and are not in Mensa. Simple short blog posts full of information and facts will score really well on the internet.

Most blog readers are only on your site for a few moments, they will scan your articles to see if any are relevant and then leave if they look too big or complicated.

5. Online Interaction

Make a few short audio or video clips and add these to your blog, most free blogs will allow several short 3 or 4 minute videos on them before they reach capacity. Another way of doing this is just to have a link on your site to YouTube and place your video in an account there.

Build a small area on your site for comments, most blog templates come with this as standard so you shouldn’t have to worry about chasing for comments, the more blogs you write, the more comments you will get. You will then get other peoples reactions to your blogs and comments can enhance your blog. You will gain friends from your blog if you are friendly yourself.

Add a button that links to your Facebook pages and also to your twitter and YouTube accounts, the links will generate their own feedback and boost your site.

Blogging is no longer reserved for the machines of this world to record key punches and sites visited, we now use them worldwide to enhance our readers experience of the internet and to GIVE rather than take.

Blogging is the internet’s very own art form, it is creative writing at it’s best and it is also VERY commercial.

I don’t know whether you’ve ever noticed, but when the snow is heavy on the ground, the birds and all the traffic stop. It’s absolutely fantastic opening the curtains and looking outside at a motionless world, clean and white.

What does this have to do with the Internet, lots! All those cars that would have been transporting everyone to work, all the buses and trains and planes and bikes, all stopped.

Internet marketers work from home in the main and as such, provided they don’t need to go for a pint of milk or some bread most of us can stay at home and still work.

Many people walked or contrived means of getting to work over the last few days here in England only to find that no other people from offices they deal with had made it to work. We should all have a back up plan, whether we work for someone else or not. If you work in an office and rely on contact with other offices, get some home numbers or mobile numbers from them, use this weather as an excuse and explain to them, they need to be contactable as much as you need to be able to contact them.

Communication is the key to almost every business in the world, if we can’t communicate with our customers, we cannot survive in the business we are in, whatever it may be.

So, your first JOB monday morning, if you make it back to your office…… start your emergency back up plan. Create an income generation system you can run from home or collect all the details of all your business customers home numbers and mobile numbers and let them know why you are doing it.

Have you ever tried internet marketing? It’s actually very easy to do; all you need is a product and there is a huge market out there to sell it to…….  that’s what the Guru will tell you.

Next the Guru will tell you all you have to do is build a list! What? A shopping list, a wish list, what. They never tell you straight out exactly what you have to do to market a product online.

I should know, I have been marketing online.. in plain English, for several years and the best thing to do, is basically read all the rubbish these people put in their sales pitch and then don’t sign up.

The answer to all your needs in internet marketing comes from their sales pitches, look into them in detail, you’ll understand pretty quickly that there is a ‘grab the attention’ headline, there’s a quick follow up with how it will benefit you, what will happen if you don’t do it and then the crippler thrown in at the back, the price reduction. They all do it, because it works, unless your hardened to it, like me.

So how do you copy them to a large extent without becoming like them and selling your soul to the internet and becoming a Guru with no conscience.

Simple, don’t sell like them. Use a different technique, provide everything to your ‘clients’ free. Nope, I don’t mean free for the first week on trial and then hit them with a massive bill after 7, 10, 30 or 60 days, I mean FREE.

Prove it to the client, that you are making so much money, you’ll give them all they need to set up their Home business and will provide the internet marketing training as well… for free.

Now hang on a minute, so how will I make any money doing this??

Again, internet marketing relies on you becoming well known and having a brand, called Brand Awareness. Take Coke, they have a brand and through huge advertising budgets and massive sales, they have created a global Brand Awareness. By giving away your system to other people, you will create this brand awareness for your business, you will create a following, just like on facebook or twitter, where hundreds and then thousands will follow you because you give away your system and it works, you proved it works, you’re wealthy.

Now what you do is ask those that you have shown your system to, to buy a product, you ask them to pay for the next part of the system (a completely stand alone part) which for them will be adding a new dimension to their own already growing internet marketing business. You ask them to buy a new add on to the system because they know it will work, because the free stuff worked and if they are paying for it, it better damn well work or they’ll sue!

So try it. There are many free systems out there being advertised, just watch for the catch. Even that one dollar to cover my postage or my set-up fee will take your details and next month, there’s a retainer… $20, $60 etc. NO. Don’t pay up front, all this information is available on the net, Google is a fantastic repository of free advice, they just lay it out so badly that no-one except the complete whiz or nerd can find it all or even hope to understand it.

What you need are basic guides, people, not eBooks, to show you what to do, how to do it, when to do it, where to do it and how often to do it. Once a day, once a week, once and hour? Google doesn’t say on a lot of things, but there are ideal numbers for all your advertising and marketing schemes online. It’s a bit like the TV program NUMBERS, they all fit somewhere and they WILL give you the answer you are looking for. You just have to plug the right numbers into your system (which you got for free!)

If you can imagine something tangible, then it is achievable. I watched a video a few days ago by Bob Proctor, a well known marketing genius and personal development coach. I have always had fantastic dreams and a completely runaway imagination, I still do!

So how does this relate to building your empire online. You can’t dream wealth and it just appears the following day, so what does my statement above mean.

Well, take me for example, I worked about average at school, achieved OK grades and left school and got a good job. I earned lots of money for 27 years and then “Bang” no job. Because I had worked in a niche market and that market was declining, I found it difficult to obtain work and so became a little bit stressed and ran out of money, I looked at hundreds of online opportunities as well as conventional jobs to make ends meet, but my imagination wouldn’t stop running off at a tangent.

Bob Proctor calls this Visualization, where you focus your mind on something you really want to achieve and eventually it will start to happen.  My dream was that I could work from home and pay off my mortgage in the shortest possible time, in my imagination, my Visualization, this happened almost instantly, so in my waking hours, or more normal time I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t making money left right and centre.

After 3 months sitting at home and brooding I came across Your Net Biz and decided to take the plunge into something that was fairly costly for an unemployed person, but I needed something to focus on and call a ‘JOB’.

I dove in right away and as I had several thousand Tweeple and several hundred friends on facebook it was fairly simple to set up an initial advertising campaign and get the ball rolling. It took just  a couple of weeks to have my system fully running, and my visualizations getting bigger and better and more focused.

The Key to all of this for me was to focus that Vision, not have random visions of great sports cars, nice houses etc.

but to have a focus, One car, a specific one with a specific registration and parked on a specific driveway in a specific road in front of a specific house. I went out and took pictures of a car at a garage, a lexus RX 300, a great 6 bed detached house in a nearby village and then with a bit of playing on the computer generated a picture of me, next to a car on the drive of that house. It now sits on my wall at home in that six bedroom house! I sold the car a few months ago and now drive a lexus. (My wife drives one too!)

If you visualize success, concentrate on it several times a day, imagine how you will achieve that success and set targets to achieve on a daily basis towards that goal, then you will succeed.

Mix with people who also have those sort of dreams and ambitions. If you go to a Golf club, chances are you won’t be invited to go sailing. If you go to a football match and start shouting stroke, stroke, stroke, the rowing team won’t hear you. Go where the people are that can put you in touch with your vision.

Visualize it now for yourself and become what you always dreamed you would be.

This is the mast we took down.

We arranged to meet to get an old 40 foot high scaffolding pole mast cut down and the radar from the top of it down too; without damaging the adjacent building, the telephone line or the walls or any people.

To that effect, the day was a great success, an hour and a half and the mast was down.

There was an initial planning stage, where everyone else avoided the issue of climbing up the mast and undoing things, but after that, we just got on and made sure that we had lines attached to guide any falling bodies (mine?) and also to prevent anything hitting the building.

We positioned a watcher in the public area on the other side of the wall to keep wouldbe passers by from getting a scanner through the head and then proceeded to unbolt the scanner.

This was rather unceremoniously yanked off the top of the mast down into the yard after the bolts had been bashed out.

And then, once the top was down on the ground, Andrew had the dubious pleasure of tidying away all the bits that had been taken off and dropped at the base of the mast.

Overalls at the ready and Andrew gets stuck in. Only a few fittings there really and a couple of really rusty old scaffold poles.

To finish off we had a couple of beers to wash away the taste of rust and hacksaw filings and then sat on the pile of scrap that had been our Radar mast for around 40 years!

And there it was……Gone

The Hoylake Sea Cadets unit, T. S. Stork is a training facility run by volunteers teaching 11 to 18 year olds how to sail, navigate, march and behave in an adult environment following nautical regimes. The scheme is supported by many charities, both nationally and locally and we thank them all.

I would sometimes experience depression as I felt like a caged beast at my cubicle from
9-to-5… almost like I was an adult that needed babysitting to make sure I was getting my work done.
